Banjara embroidery originates from nomadic Indian tribes who make their living by weaving colourful textiles to create clothing, accessories and homeware items. The intricate stitching of the textiles often includes applique work, with mirrors and beads. The banjara technique is unique in India and is a celebration of the strength of the women who practise the craft.
The particular banjara purses and bags that we offer are handmade by a community from the Barmer region of Rajasthan. There is only one of each item available as each piece is completely one of a kind.
